Free yourself, from old crippled ways. Live a little longer, in fuller satisfying days, You know you’re meant to it baby, meant as means does true, So mean a little with my baby, and watch the world crumble for you. Let go with your rational soul, let go with your rational soul. What do you say baby? Did I show you the light? We’re gonna get a little stronger It’s your got given right, You know you’re meant to it baby, meant as means does true, So mean a little with my baby, and watch the world crumble for you. Let go with your rational soul, let go with your rational soul. I’ll take on the ladies, you’ll take on the men, You know we’ll get them darling we’ll get our world to bend, You know you’re meant to it baby, meant as means does true, So mean a little with my baby, and watch the world crumble for you. Let go with your rational soul, let go with your rational soul.

Two bottles of wine shimmers in the night, Whisper to each other ain't nothing wrong cause it feels so right, A soft violin slides between you and me, caressing your blissful, blame-full, boastful hair, For with its spiritual lyrical satirical imagination, a Mona Lisa dares with a staring glare. Two bottles of wine, shimmer in the night, Whisper to each other ain't nothing wrong cause it feels so right, Edmund Hilary would be jealous, with those insurmountable unimaginable peaks, Climbing higher and higher and higher and oh so high, minus thirty so dirty with a light touch of flurry The heat of the day evaporates away with our hesitative meditative resistance, oh yea, The cool night breeze awakes our suppressed, repressed intentions. Two bottles of wine, shimmer in the night, Whisper to each other ain't nothing wrong cause it feels so right, You see, a man named Michelangelo awakened slave from stone and then came Galileo with his utmost humble approach. And then came a girl named oh, with her oh-so heavenly tender throne, A soft violin slides between you and me, caressing her blissful blame-full, blissful blame-full boastful hair. The cool night breeze awakes our suppressed repressed intentions, Oh with her staring glare, with her eyes so fair, I see her staring at me. Oh.

Downtown 03:20
I’m going downtown, to find my baby. I’m going to the city streets to bring her back to me, ‘Cause when I’m walking and talking and doing my thing she’s, Yea she’s rocking and socking and flirting my brain I’m going downtown, to sweet my baby off of her feet, I’ll find her downtown, ‘cause she loves those dark back streets. So let me tell you about a girl with long dark dreads, Yea she’s mean and she’s cool and she’ll rip you to shreds, And every time I pull away she pulls me back in, So I wrote this little song.

Dublin Blues 02:38
When I was a little kid, yea I was really alive, Oh no, my problems didn't transcend, Nor did they bookend, nor did they upend You see back in those days, I remember flying, And there was no stopping me, and there was no harming me, and no frightening me, no slighting me, But then I grew old, oh how I grow old, Doubt and fear became my dugout and career, And my endless drear of unending jeer steered my mind into that unclear sphere And so I kept growing old, oh how I grew old, A palette of Dublin blues ran through my hair, How do I find my youth again, how do I dream like a youth again, How do I fly like a bird in the sky? Give me that answer, why don't you give me that answer? How do I find my youth again How do I dream like a youth again? How do I fly? How do I fly? How do I fly?

I see my old man he’s looking at me, he’s wearing a frown, Your reckless philosophy, it’ll bring us all down, You can gamble your wits and your money too and whatever you’ve found, But if it ain’t your’s you got no business messing around. So won’t you listen to me, We all need some stability. I’ve got friends on the other side, I’ve seen men come and go, So many of them were shot at war for reasons I’ll never know, They worked so hard for their short lives which ended unreasonably, Their deaths were reckless and justified you say for you and for me. So won’t you listen to me, We all need some stability. You country’s in debt and all for what? Expense minus revenue. Well your profit is none but you need to spend some, it’s obvious what you have to do, Take in some more, pay off your debt, cut back all you don’t need, But take your mind outside of it, it’s got to be done objectively.

Directions 03:31
Where should I go when the puzzle pieces don’t fit? Where should I go when the clouds in the sky blow away? Where should I go? I have no home, Give me a clue, point me to where I've got to go. So I took to the courts, the basketball courts, To find my worth cause I was big and tall, But my shoes didn't fit too well, And my jersey was too big. So I’m asking now Where should I go when the puzzle pieces don’t fit? Where should I go when the clouds in the sky blow away? Where should I go? I have no home, Give me a clue, point me to where I've got to go. So I found those girls, they loved that dope, So I tried a little and pried a little, But those same little girls turned their backs on me, And now I’m hanging in a purple haze. Where should I go when the puzzle pieces don’t fit? Where should I go when the clouds in the sky blow away? Where should I go? I have no home, Give me a clue, point me to where I've got to go. So now I’m trying this music game, Rhyming and binding those words for musical fame, But our band doesn't have a bassist, And our drummer ran away. Where should I go when the puzzle pieces don’t fit? Where should I go when the clouds in the sky blow away? Where should I go? I have no home, Give me a clue, point me to where I've got to go.

The Dynamo 03:00
She's my sweet little baby, you know you can tell, She's my sweet little baby, I'm going to follow her right to hell, Follow her right to hell! There's a place called The Dynamo, sullen place where the prophet goes, The cliffs are bare and the ashes glow, a deadly place called The Dynamo. She was my wife, she was my soul, she was my lover, I was dying in the desert and she was my water, Well she lasted five long years with me and only me, But I found she's be a mother and I wouldn't be a father, So I took my .45 and shot it right at her, Oh no! So I shot her,Shot her dead, She just laid there in a pool of red, I took her body to The Dynamo, I started walking, never stopping, never sleeping, never resting, never asking where the hell I'm going to go. She's my sweet little baby, you know you can tell, She's my sweet little baby, I'm going to follow her right to hell, Follow her right to hell! There's a place called The Dynamo, That's the only place where I can go, The cliffs are bare and the ashes flow, A deadly place called The Dynamo.

So you see I'm running, and I'm keeping on running One cunning foot humming in front of nothing, A shunning glance hunting and it's hunting for something, But a stunning running never stops lunging, Oh brother where you going? 'Cause brother it's cold in the rough, Won't you keep me company, All alone in the rough? Oh, my flow is hypnotic, my flow is frantic, And its cosmic and Coptic and cubic and spheric, And a heartsick cynic with a Gaelic drumstick, There's no room for a homesick beatnik, Oh brother where you going? 'Cause brother it's cold in the rough, Won't you keep me company, All alone in the rough? I don't know where to go, 'cause there's no beau with no 'bo, You see I used to do tae-bo with my loco ho, Although she's no Van Gogh, she had eyes like monroe, And when we used to dance we danced real real slow, Oh brother where you going? 'Cause brother it's cold in the rough, Won't you keep me company, All alone in the rough? All alone in the rough. All alone in the rough.

Ghosts 02:17
I am the ghost of the past and the future, I am the light of a warm summer day, And when you dream of life, God damned I want to die, I am the unconscious by your side. I am the ghost of all your lovers, I am the ghosts of all your friends, But when you self destruct you know I am you rock, I am the unconscious by your side. I am the winter kiss, I am a first, I am the wild unquenchable thirst, Oh, the speck of a doubt, a moment without, I am a mighty machine in your mind, I am the wind in the trees in your hair, I am the rain in the cold dark lair, But baby when you cry, I want to make you smile, I am the cherry on the black forest cake. But when you're walking with your head in the clouds, I want to bring you right back down, And when you're walking with your head a frown, I want to turn that upside down, And make you smile, And make you smile, And make you smile, And make you smile.

Pray 03:01
A preacher once told me that I am nothing, And that the will of his God is all there it, I asked what if I do nothing, would the fighting ever end? If there's not pain and no shame and no honour and no greed, Would the fighting ever end? Is there a home outside in the pouring rain, Is there no briliant mind that hasn't gone insane, Is there no beaten wife that wants her husband to stay Won't you tell me why, tell me why I should pray? A preacher once told me that I'm a sinner, And that the thoughts in my head, oh they're unclean, Asked does God really care of the gestures that I intend, If I could stop the pain and shame, the honour and the greed, Could I get the fighting to end, Is there no water too deep to save a child in need, Are there no more slaves still waiting to be free? Is there no innocent tried come to live his last day, Won't you tell me why, tell me why, I should pray. I should pray. I should pray. I should pray. I should pray. I should pray. I should pray. I should pray. I should pray. I should pray. I should pray. I should pray.

The River 02:53
The big train came, it passes us by, I can see it on the other side, of the river. Life's like this you'll always see, No room for you, no room for me, Always, Sitting on the river side watching our lives go passing by, We'll cross the river, we always say, some day before we die. I make a lot of talk but it's never happen to me, Unless I get my ass and stand on my feet. I always wanted to see New Orleans, But the great flood ended all those dreams, Saint Louis and Chicago too, Let’s go together, just me and you, The river is wide, we don't want to get wet, But if we go now we won't regret The time we spend together, all that we haven’t seen, Who know, maybe New Orleans, I make a lot of talk but it's never happen to me, Unless I get my ass and stand on my feet. Sitting on the river side watching our lives go passing by, We'll cross the river, we always say, some day before we die. We'll cross the river, we always say, some day before we die. We'll cross the river, we always say, some day before we die.

Trumpet playing in the park all day, No one hears it but me. A widow praying by a tombstone all day, The smell of flowers in the air, There’s a man standing next to me, He never leaves me alone. Oh babes, what do you see? Is it real or is it just me? And I feel like I’m playing with fire. And the lights all shine on me, ‘cause I feel like playing with fire. They will, I know I’ll be, ‘cause I feel like playing with fire. I walk alone, I walk alone is there no one by my side? No one to tell me so. I speak alone to the audience that’s my world, I need a hit, I need a hit to be free. I am the sun, the sun that shines up in the sky, Is there a place for me when I die? Oh babes, what do you see? Is it real or is it just me? And I feel there’s a veil pulling over my head. There’s a pain, enormous stain, the book has to be read, There’s a sun, is it me, blowing up and it’s free. You’re a dog, you’re dead, have I lost my head? ‘Cause I feel like playing with fire, Oh I feel, oh I feel like playing with fire, Oh I feel, oh how I feel, ‘cause I feel like playing with fire.

So many things unsaid, There’s a fire in your bed, We’ll catch you, I’ll catch you. Your treason is for sure, The clouds of dark preparing for the war, It’s going to come to you, It’s going to come to you. Guns, guns. I‘m the fearless knight of the Zulu King, I walk on guilded splinters like it ain’t no thing, They jive me, they jive me. With my spear, with my spear. Fire, torch. Black is the pain coming out to you, Hit the sun let it rain on me, black is the pain running out to you. Throw a stone, I can eat your soul, I can pick you up and throw you down again, You’re fading as we go, fading as we go. I‘m the fearless knight of the Zulu King, I walk on guilded splinters like it ain’t no thing, They jive me, they jive me. Fire, torch. Black is the pain coming out to you, Hit the sun let it rain on me, black is the pain running out to you.

Sailing Away 03:37
Sailing away without a care in the world, But for me, and I for you. I’ve got too much on my mind, Let’s just leave them all behind, Come with me, And I, and I with you. Give me hope that I won’t need them no more, Never again, never again, There’s a weight pushing down on my chest, I need a rest, I need a rest. I feel trapped and I’m getting all excited, And I can’t control emotions even when I fight it, Well, this ain’t for me, Come sail away with me on the open sea, We’ll get to see the world just you and me, Well, just you and me. Give me hope that I won’t need them no more, Never again, never again, There’s a weight pushing down on my chest, I need a rest, I need a rest.

about

Hudson Landing Montreal, Québec

Hudson Landing was formed in the spring of 2011 by Coussa & Jackson, two aspiring scientists, from a mutual love for music. The band's defining feature is its ability to weave together different musical styles, ranging from swoony 'shoe gazer' jazz to heavy 70s rock to spanish guitar to fingersnapping whistlejiving pop to old time delta blues, and unify them into one song. ... more
